The West Asia North Africa Cooperation Unit (WANACU) is a special unit based at School VI – Planning Building Environment – of Technische Universität Berlin. The unit is aiming at the development and the support of co-operation activities within the scope of the School in the region of West Asia and North Africa, also referred to as the WANA region. This region which has become a major focus in the School’s international activities within the last few years. WANACU has been established in 2006 and is associated with the Dean of School VI. The main objectives of the association are to raise awareness of the social and political actors on the heritage of the twentieth century, enhance the actions of restoration or rehabilitation and to participate in research work with national and international laboratories (Morocco, Europe, North Africa).

The Food Urbanism Initiative (FUI) aims to examine the overall impact of food on urban design and to study the potential of new architectural and landscape strategies for the integration of food production, processing, distribution and consumption in the contemporary Swiss city.
FUI is conducted by an interdisciplinary team composed of four primary research groups, Verzone Woods Architectes (VWA), the EPFL Media and Design Lab (LDM), the Agri-food & Agri-environmental Economics Group (AFEE) of the (ETHZ) and Agroscope ProfiCrops. Please click here to get more information
